Our children's work

Our children's work

The children mentored by Chance UK do huge amounts of creative and inspiring work. Below is a small selection of what our children have produced.

James and Andrew

Andrew is 10 years old, and came in to speak to trainee mentors about the difference his mentor James has made in his life.

Andrew went the extra mile, and put together a PowerPoint presentation on why everyone should be mentors!

He was articulate and open, funny and engaging. He left everyone feeling inspired about becoming a mentor, and showed his own brilliant qualities in the process. Well done Andrew!

You can download a copy of his presentation below:

When you are older, what do you wanna be?

One of them gangsters carrying machetes?

You're not big, you're not sick

You've got no education, in fact, you're thick.

You're crazy, you're lazy...

to get water other kids go on mission,

little black kid with no nutrition.

See for yourself, you've got eyes

You don't have to be telling all those lies.

You get in trouble with the police

because you stole a flimsy old fleece.

You got a bad reputation

you gotta take a vacation...

from crime...now is the time.

Listen to what I am sayin'

or you'll soon be prayin'

to get yourself out of jail.

You think you have failed,

and you can't go back.

But you can my friend,

You gotta get your life back on track.

I used to be like that too,

I used to be like you.

When you are older, what do you wanna be?

One of them gangsters carrying machetes?

The Mum-Minder By Jacqueline Wilson Review By Sherice Frew.

I gave this book 5 out of 5

My favourite character is

Sadie because she is funny, and very helpful to everyone, and she made her mum a chocolate heart to cheer her up when she was ill all week.

Sadie took over looking after the Children.

Baby Clive was sick all over Vincent’s mum.

Children took over the office. Taking the children to work was very stressful for parents.

Jacqueline Wilson is the best author in the world.

Aliens Stole My Dog

Review By Sherice  Frew

Sherice says thumbs up to reading

David Is The Main Character  In The Book.

The Space Ship Blow Up In Violet And Blue Light And Shimmered Around.

I like When David Was Chewing Gum, He Was Blowing A Large Big Bubble.

My Favourite Character Is The Lollipop Lady Because She Was So Funny.

She Was Also So Grumpy.

The Dog’s Name Was Hairy Spice And He Was Helping Mum Cook Dinner.

This Made Us Laugh Out Loud And We Were Told To Be Quite In The Library.

I give this book 2 /5

Jessie and Victoria's Best Day Out

Once upon a time, on Thursday 3rd January, I went on a trip to London Zoo with Victoria, my mentor!

We saw lots of animals, like Queenie the pig and Shaun the sheep - but there was also a big cat that kept showing me its teeth every time I went near the cage.  The best part was when I interviewed Veronica, a zoo keeper, and got to hold an animal like a coati.

The coati was so fidgety and sneaky a bit like me!  It had a really long tail and a pointy nose - it eats worms, snails and slugs, a bit like Victoria!

Only joking!  A big thank you to Veronica and Chance UK.
